Andrea Mitchell’s attempt to slam Ted Cruz ends with apology

NBC’s Andrea Mitchell attempt to slam Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) over what she originally thought was a botched quote in one of his tweets ended instead with the veteran anchor apologizing after she realized that she was wrong.

Cruz had raised the ire of. Democrats  and the liberal media after he criticized former President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial by quoting William Shakespeare, saying that it was “full of sound and fury signifying nothing.”

Mitchell then took to Twitter to inform Cruz that it was William Faulkner who said that, not Shakespeare.

Cruz then tweeted the lines from Macbeth for Mitchell’s benefit, after which she apologized.

Mitchell could have avoided this embarrassment if she had done some quick fact-checking, but in her zealousness to attack Cruz for daring to criticize the impeachment hearings she completely botched it.
