School Officials ‘Rebrand’ Critical Race Theory As A Way Around Laws
By Jeff Salle – March 28, 2022
As the debate over Critical Race Theory (CRT) continues, a recent investigation found that laws prohibiting CRT are ineffective because teachers ultimately decide what they teach behind closed doors in their classrooms.
According to a recent investigation by the conservative watchdog group Accuracy in Media (AIM), school administrators admitted to teaching racial-oriented and other curriculum components under rebranded names in Idaho and Tennessee, based on a compilation of undercover interviews recorded in Idaho and Tennessee.
Both are conservative strongholds where legislation prohibiting CRT from being taught in schools has been passed.
“What was abundantly clear from many administrators is that they are quite clever in coming up with ways to get CRT into the curriculum even when it is illegal,” said Adam Guillette, president of AIM. “Parents should be alarmed and terrified because one overarching theme we heard from administrators across the country is that at the end of the day, teachers can close the door and do whatever they want.”
“What’s going on in other states if this is what’s going on in states where it’s illegal?” he wondered.
