Larry Hogan says he’s withdrawing from Harvard ‘fellowships,’ denounces school’s handling of controversial student letter
Larry Hogan, the former governor of Maryland, said Monday he is withdrawing from Harvard “fellowships” following the university’s response to the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas militants in Israel on Oct. 7.
Hogan, a Republican who has considered a 2024 run for president, said he believes the university has not done enough to “forcefully denounce” antisemitism on campus.
“I cannot condone the dangerous antisemitism that has taken root on your campus, especially by more than 30 Harvard student organizations attempting to justify and celebrate Hamas’ terrorism against innocent Israeli and American civilians,” Hogan wrote in a letter to Harvard president Claudine Gay, which he shared on X, previously known as Twitter.

Days after the student groups released the Oct. 7 statement, billboard trucks arrived in Harvard Square emblazoned with the names and photos of students tied to that statement.
Adam Guillette, president of the conservative group behind the trucks, Accuracy in Media, said in an interview late last week the trucks will remain in Harvard Square for the “foreseeable future.”
