Seattle school district rewards pro-Hamas teacher by putting him on paid leave

The punishment, these days, for being a vile antisemite is to get paid to do no work.

Ian Golash, a teacher in the Seattle system, said that the Hamas attacks upon Israel were justified.

AIM president Adam Guillette asked Golash if women were murdered at the Re’im music festival on October 7.

“They were,” Golash responded.

Guillete then asked Golash if he believed the murders were justified.

“Yes,” Golash said.

“The murder of innocent women just attending a music festival, that was justified in your opinion?” Guillette asked Golash.

“No. I think resistance against Israel is justified, yes,” Golash responded.

Given that the resistance, in this instance, was the murder of women at a music festival, therefore…

This is not, perhaps, the man we’d like to be teaching our children. We are suggesting that you’d like to tell Seattle schools that too, something you can do here at IanGolash.com.

But what is the punishment for stating something – and presumably teaching something – so vile?

Controversial Seattle teacher Ian Golash was reportedly placed on paid administrative leave following his antisemitic comments, including a defense of the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel on Oct. 7.

Mike Golash, who lists Ian as his son, posted the news on Facebook. In a comment, he said that Ian “has been placed on paid administrative leave for the rest of the semester for speaking out against genocide in Gaza. He has been told not to speak to any students or teachers in the Seattle school system.” The father said this occurred after his son was “attacked by the Zionists.”

A fairly typical response to being caught out. Say something vile, get caught, blame the conspiracy for the punishment.

But this does then lead to a proper and real question here. What is the correct punishment? Getting paid for doing no work for the rest of the semester doesn’t sound too harsh. Plenty of us would say stuff for the chance of a paid vacation after all.

So, what is going to be the actual punishment then and when is it going to arrive? Asking this of Seattle’s public school system administrators can be done here.
