Hezbollah flags, terrorist endorsements and antisemitism have infiltrated campus protests
April 26, 2024
The campus demonstrations say they are just against Israel. They say, they say, they’re not against Jews, or Judaism, not antisemitic at all. They say they’re not really against Israel even, only some actions of Israel. So why are people displaying the Hezbollah flag? And why is Iran supporting them when they do so? And why is Hamas supporting the students?
To remind, Hezbollah is defined as a terrorist organization by the United States and by 60 other civilized countries. But the Hezbollah flag is being displayed at Princeton.
The Iranian government has applauded the display of that same Hezbollah flag at demonstrations.
Hamas has been defined as a terrorist organization by the United States since 1997. Hamas has joined Iran in supporting the student demonstrations:
A senior official of the Palestinian Hamas movement at war with Israel has expressed support for protests being staged in solidarity with Gaza at universities across the United States and condemned efforts to crack down on them in comments shared with Newsweek.
“We in the Hamas movement believe that any popular movement demanding an end to the aggression and genocide against our people are useful and supportive activities for our cause,” Hamas spokesperson Bassem Naim told Newsweek.
The three different organizations there, the two terrorist groups and the government of Iran have all stated that their aim is to wipe Israel from the map. They are not arguing about certain actions or policies, they want the Jews gone. Which is a pretty good definition of antisemitism.
The student demonstrations include those who apparently share those views – that’s antisemitism. And those three groups who would wipe out Israel support the student demonstrations as being helpful to their cause. Perhaps we should take them at their word on this – perhaps those student demonstrations are helpful to those who would murder Israel itself.
Just to remind, again, Hamas started all of this. The October 7 attacks killed at least 1,200 Israelis and too another several hundred hostage – most of whom have not been released as yet. And yet students at America’s elite colleges are demonstrating in favor of the terrorists.
Something’s clearly gone terribly wrong with the education system and it’s not obvious that it’s something as simple as that old hatred, antisemitism. Which does lead to the big, big, question, what are we going to do about it?
