Same antisemitism, different day — AIM returns to Berkeley
May 21, 2024
Same antisemitism, different day.
Accuracy in Media President Adam Guillette paid the University of California at Berkeley a visit on commencement day.
In October 2022, AIM sent a mobile billboard to the Berkeley campus after nine student groups at Berkeley Law signed a proclamation promising not to host Zionist speakers, regardless of the topics they’re speaking on — effectively creating Jew-free zones on campus.
This time, Guillette checked in with students on campus to see whether anything has changed, and to remind them that there is no statute of limitations on confronting antisemitism.
It hasn’t.
“Do you think what happened on October 7 was terrorism, or was it merely resistance to oppression?” Guillette asked.
“I think the Israeli occupation are terrorists,” one student responded.
“I think Israel should not exist,” another student said.
“You don’t sound like the biggest fan of the Jews when you say something like that,” Guillette responded.
There’s more where that came from – watch the video to see even more on the state of antisemitism at Berkeley. And visit BerkeleyBansJews.com to tell the groups who signed the proclamation to stop their hateful actions and embrace tolerance.
