MIT scholar openly supports Hamas

Accuracy in Media hit the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a parody video asking people to sign a thank-you card for Hamas. But what we found was much more serious than anybody anticipated.
As AIM did at Harvard, we headed to MIT to gauge their sympathies to the “freedom fighters” of Hamas. We presented a thank you card, backed by a Palestinian and gay pride flag, and asked those passing by if they would like to leave well wishes for the members of the terrorist group Hamas.
While there, the whole range of responses was captured on camera. One person left with a simple “f*** you!” But some of the views people were willing to share with us were appalling. AIM did speak to one professor.
“You said you’re a professor here?” we asked.
“Yeah, I’m a Sears Scholar and the director of the Fellowship at the Legatum Center,” said the man, who was later identified as Haitham Khoury, Acting Director of Fellowships and Global Initiatives for MIT’s Legatum Center.
While Khoury did not speak much to us, he signed the card to thank Hamas.
He’s not the only one.
One person, who claimed to work at Google, quickly pivoted to claims that Israel is “experimenting illegally on Palestinian prisoners… there are bodies that have organs missing.”
Another person jumped to denying rapes following the October 7 Hamas attack. But then, this woman appears to want to deny any atrocities in which Jews are victims.
“What a good thing that’s — and I did say it — that’s going to come out of this is that they are not going to be able to keep referencing the Holocaust.”
“While this is a parody video, the people who signed the card were not in on the joke,” said AIM President Adam Guillette. “They really would sign a thank you card for Hamas, and they volunteered their own vile beliefs, without hestitation.”
