AIM mobilizes billboard truck to hold Columbia student involved in Hamilton Hall takeover accountable
August 5, 2024
Columbia University students have been at the epicenter of the college campus antisemitism crisis. Pro-Hamas students continue to make headlines for their outrageous demands and calls for violence against Jews.
One student, Sebastian Gomez, not only took part in the encampment at Columbia, but got arrested when police broke up the occupation of Hamilton Hall on campus.
Despite these actions, charges against Gomez were dropped. If the justice system won’t, Accuracy in Media will hold these students accountable.
AIM President Adam Guillette, accompanied a mobile billboard to Gomez’s home, that exposed him to neighbors for his heinous actions at Columbia.
Gomez’s neighbors and community members had mixed feelings towards the student’s behavior.
One passerby defended the actions of the Ivy League students, claiming, “I think they’re speaking up for what they believe in.” But what happens when what they believe in is the erasure of the Jewish people, and a terrorist group?
Catching a postal worker driving by, Guillette asked him what she thought of the idea that he could be spending $80,000 a semester to send his child to a school where they’re too afraid to attend class due to the violence.
As they conversed, a couple walking by with a stroller told Guillette, “Get off the street, f**got.”
Then, the father of Sebastian Gomez pulled into the driveway after attempting to cover part of the mobile billboard with tape, and calling the cops. The cops reaffirmed AIM’s right to continue with our work.
While Gomez’s father may not appreciate the mobile reminder of his sons’ hatred for Jews, until his son apologizes, we will continue to hold him and other students accountable for their antisemitism.
