Is Columbia America’s most antisemitic university?

As Columbia University begins its new academic year, it is again drawing attention for troubling reports of rising antisemitism on campus. Once celebrated for its diversity and intellectual rigor, Columbia now finds itself at the center of a national conversation about free speech, academic bias, and the safety of Jewish students.

Jewish students and faculty at Columbia have raised alarm over an increasing number of incidents involving anti-Israel sentiment that some argue cross into antisemitism. Reports include biased classroom discussions, faculty members with outspoken anti-Israel views, and a broader campus culture that many claim is silent or dismissive of Jewish concerns.

This environment creates a breeding ground for intolerance, threatening not only the safety and well-being of Jewish students but also the core values of academic freedom and open discourse. Students have reported feeling marginalized, unsafe, and unsupported in the face of antisemitic rhetoric and actions that have become more frequent in recent years. And yet Columbia still is not holding its students accountable.

So Accuracy in Media used mobile billboards to name and shame the students who have gotten away with hateful rhetoric and in many cases were arrested as part of the pro-Hamas encampment on campus.

Minouche Shafik stepped down as president of Columbia and an interim president has stepped into the role. What happens next will be a defining moment for Columbia’s future. The university has a choice: It can continue to allow antisemitism to fester, or it can take meaningful steps to restore safety and respect on campus.
