Seattle teacher DEFENDS terrorism?
September 17, 2024
Accuracy in Media returned to Seattle with a mobile billboard to demand accountability from Seattle Public Schools and social studies teacher Ian Golash.
Golash, who teaches ethnic studies and world history to sophomores at Chief Sealth International High School, made the shocking claim that Hamas’s brutal terrorist actions were “justified” and posted pro-Hamas materials in the school hallway.
Despite outcry from parents, Seattle Public Schools has taken no action against Golash, prompting AIM’s return.
The teacher’s unapologetic defense of Hamas atrocities, including the October 7 massacre of Israeli civilians, left many appalled. Golash was directly asked by AIM President Adam Guillette, in front of his students, whether he believed the murders of women at a music festival were justified. His answer? “Yes.”
Adding to the controversy, a local reporter leaked AIM’s press release to a pro-Hamas group, which showed up at AIM’s planned stops. Clearly, more than just the school district is willing to look the other way.
As AIM previously reported on Golash:
“‘Hamas didn’t behead anyone. Hamas didn’t rape anyone. The bodies found charred beyond recognition were made that way either by Israeli tanks, misses, or helicopter gunships… Hamas soldiers were not carrying weapons that could do that kind of damage to human bodies,’ the post notes.
Our past complaints about and visits to Seattle about Golash featured in the New York Post, on local radio, on local TV. Because this is what is necessary to make something happen. Clearly neither Golash nor Seattle Public Schools is going to do anything without being shamed into it.
