AIM uses absurdity to expose hypocrisy with ‘Swingers Against Lockdowns’

Jay Varma has admitted hosting sex and drugs parties during Covid – just when he was insisting that everyone else had to cower at home:

The official in charge of New York City’s pandemic response participated in sex parties and attended a dance party underneath a Wall Street bank during the height of the pandemic, even as he was instructing New Yorkers to stay home and away from others to stop the spread of Covid-19. He acknowledged his transgressions on Thursday after being caught on hidden camera boasting about his exploits.

That’s the New York Times, so we’d guess that this is pretty much out in the open now. So Accuracy in Media sent Varma his very own mobile billboard. More to come on how AIM used absurdity to expose his hypocrisy with a ‘Swingers Against Lockdowns’ protest – but for now, a preview:

The initial undercover tape came from Steven Crowder, there are further pieces at CBS, Newsweek and this very interesting part from The Atlantic:

In conversations caught on hidden camera, New York City’s former COVID czar said that he’d organized a pair of sex parties in the second half of 2020, as New Yorkers coped with peak pandemic social isolation. “The only way I could do this job for the city was if I had some way to blow off steam every now and then,” Jay Varma told an undercover reporter with whom he thought he was on a date.

Allow us to introduce you to the concept of “Zil-lanes”. These were in the Soviet Union and they were special lanes in the road that only senior Communist Party officials could use. The Zil was the special big limo for those high party officials. When communism failed as we know the varied thugs and crooks took over. Many of whom bought the special blue light that allowed the use of the Zil-lanes. This is the point to remember – from it being special for the President’s limousine the Zil and the lane became for anyone grasping enough to use it.

Or, as we can also put it, the rules for those who rule us are different from those rules we must follow. Which is where we come back to Dr. Varma. He was telling everyone to stay indoors and he was off in the basements of Wall St Banks having sex and drugs parties. Because, you know, the stress of insisting that we all stay home means that he couldn’t stay home.

The rules are different for those in power, do you see? Not just for the President and his limo but for  the functionaries, the bureaucrats.

That’s a very un-American idea. Entirely against the basic concept of the country, even as it’s common enough in communist dictatorships and other political hellholes. And that, of course, is what Varma has really done wrong. Sex and drugs, well, it happens. Possibly shouldn’t but it does. But insisting that he as a high public servant should not have to obey the same laws and rules as us, his employers?

No, no, that’s not how we roll in this country.

But it’s also possible to thinks about this as being worse. We all recall ivermectin and other treatments. We also all recall how anyone recommending them was told to shut up. Doctors who prescribed them were at least threatened with losing their licenses. Remember all that? Stay in place, hunker down and wait for the vaccine, that was the only treatment allowed. They made even thinking about other drugs illegal.

At the same time they were off taking illegal drugs in bank basements.

That’s really not how we roll, is it? One set of rules for the elite, another for us, that’s European, or communist, or at least foreign. We Americans are all in this together.

Well, that’s how we’ve always thought about it but the bureaucracy that rules us seems to have different ideas. Perhaps we should remind them that we are a democracy and it’s us that rule the country, not them?

Just one final thought. We might have led sheltered lives or something but we don’t really understand. Sex, yes, great – so, find someone you like, who likes you, and, well, why not? The bit we don’t really grasp. Why insist on trying to have sex with the people you have to take drugs to desire?
