Vote for choice or there is no choice
October 22, 2024
Elections are when we, the people, get to choose. That means that if you have an issue that is important to you, now is the time to act.
One of those electoral issues is school choice.
The question of school choice is among 11 education-related initiatives on the ballot in nine states this November. In Nebraska, voters will decide whether to preserve or overturn 2023 legislation that created a private school scholarship program. If approved, initiatives in Kentucky and Colorado could pave the way for lawmakers to create vouchers or education savings accounts in the future.
We know how we would vote—more school choice is better. The evidence is that School choice benefits the poor and makes all—including public schools—better. More and better education from our tax dollars—it’s good.
As the primary season in Texas showed, elections do make a difference. If politics and politicians aren’t producing the education system – or any system – that you want, then you need new politicians. Or, if there are initiatives on the ballot, you can vote for the system you want.
We have our views on this – school choice is good, more school choice is better. But your view is the most important. This is when you – yes, you, your very self – get to tell everyone else what you want. So, do it. Vote for what you think makes the United States of America, or your state, a better place.
Politicians don’t ask our opinion very often, so when they do, make use of your opportunity to instruct them, instead of suffering through their tenure.
Vote to tell them what to do with your dollars. Otherwise, they’ll just take your money and do what they want.
