Texas teacher arrested for alleged student relationship, district exposed for hiding details from parents

Accuracy in Media Senior Advisor Corey DeAngelis discovered the name of a teacher accused of having an “inappropriate relationship” with a student after the school district attempted to keep the information a secret from parents.
Henderson Integrated School District issued a statement claiming an unnamed Henderson High School teacher was placed on paid administrative leave, following the arrest of the teacher for “allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student,” local news reported.
DeAngelis uncovered the timeline of the statement from Henderson ISD coincides with the date of the arrest of Kathryn Laraine Prior for possession or promotion of child pornography:

It is bad enough that a teacher was placed on paid administrative leave for potentially having an inappropriate relationship with a student, but worse still, the school district is trying to prevent parents from knowing the name of the alleged perpetrator, thus making it harder for other possible victims to come forward.
“This public school teacher was arrested after reportedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student. Parents deserve a right to know all available details, but the district hid that information from the community. That lack of transparency will only further damage the confidence parents have in the school system,” DeAngelis told AIM.
