AUSTIN — On Thursday, Accuracy in Media will hold a press conference at the Texas State Capitol alongside education freedom advocate Riley Gaines to highlight its recent undercover investigations into Texas school districts, call for accountability from school administrators and elected officials, and advocate for universal school choice.
Over the past two months, Accuracy in Media has released investigations into the Dallas, Irving, Richardson, and Hutto independent school districts, uncovering school administrators advising parents on how to bypass the “Save Women’s Sports Act.” The law requires student-athletes to play on teams that correspond with the gender listed on their official birth certificate.
Gaines, a former collegiate swimmer and founder of the Riley Gaines Center at The Leadership Institute, will join Accuracy in Media at the event to discuss the importance of parental rights and transparency in education.
Accuracy in Media has conducted several undercover investigations and deployed mobile billboards across Texas to promote school choice.
AIM’s investigations into San Antonio, Irving, Richardson, Hutto, and Dallas ISDs revealed administrators coaching parents on how to circumvent the state’s transgender sports ban. The findings prompted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to launch a probe into the school districts.
In response to the investigations, Accuracy in Media also launched TexasSchoolsLie.com, which enables citizens to email their elected officials and demand accountability from administrators who violated state law. Since the release of the reports, at least two school officials exposed in the videos have resigned.
