A Texas school administrator is now “open to work” after an Accuracy in Media investigation revealed her willingness to skirt Texas law.
Mahoganie Gaston, the LGBT youth program coordinator for Dallas ISD, updated her LinkedIn profile to show that she is looking for a job.
As Accuracy in Media uncovered:
Mahoganie Gaston, Dallas ISD’s LGBT Youth Program Coordinator, suggested a “loophole” to bypass the state’s birth certificate requirements for interscholastic sports. Gaston noted that while Texas prohibits updating birth certificates, other states, such as New Jersey and Virginia, allow alterations. She implied that presenting an updated certificate from another state could enable transgender athletes to compete under their identified gender.
When questioned further, Gaston assured the undercover journalist that the school would “absolutely” support a hypothetical transgender athlete, even in scenarios involving potential safety concerns, such as injuring another player due to physical size differences. This response raised concerns about prioritizing ideology over student safety.
Gaston also revealed her willingness to defy laws for what she perceives as the greater good, stating, “I tell people all the time, I will go to jail for saving their child’s life.” She even remarked that “a lot of people” would bail her out if such actions led to legal consequences.
