Harvard’s big day: University celebrates students from ‘around the world’ while asking court to let them stay

A federal judge in Boston on Thursday said she would grant an injunction preventing the government from taking action to stop Harvard from enrolling international students while the school is appealing the Department of Homeland Security’s notice sent last night of alleged violations.

Meanwhile, in Cambridge, the university celebrated its 374th commencement, where President Alan Garber acknowledged graduates from “around the world” as he received a standing ovation from the assembled in Harvard Yard.

Adam Guillette, president of the conservative watchdog group Accuracy in Media, stood beside a black mobile billboard parked on Massachusetts Avenue outside Harvard Yard, which blasted the word “shame” on repeat.
