Alameda Health refuses to say if arrested Columbia pro-Hamas rioter is still on staff

Alameda Health in California is refusing to comment on the employment status of a former Columbia student arrested after storming a library during a pro-Hamas demonstration earlier this year.
Gabrielle Wimer was a student at Columbia University’s medical school. She was one of nine students arrested after storming neighboring Barnard College’s Millstein Library as part of a pro-Hamas mob in March.
During the incident a school employee was reportedly physically assaulted and transported to the hospital.
Despite her arrest, Wimer was selected for the Highland Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California. How does that happen?
AIM reached the hospital system repeatedly regarding Wimer’s employment. Alameda refused to provide any confirmation or comment on Wimer, her employment, or the situation. Are they embarrassed or just hiding?
AIM also recently visited the hospital’s campus to find out if patients and staff were aware of Wimer’s presence and history.
Upon AIM’s arrival, individuals used hospital bed sheets and crutches to block the mobile billboard calling out Wimer, as well as AIM’s cameras. Police were eventually called after an agitator spit on AIM President Adam Guillette.
Many of the people spoken to by Guillette said they wouldn’t want to be treated by someone such as Wimer after he informed them of her recent actions at Columbia. Those interviewed called Wimer’s residency “terrible” and “not fair,” among other things.
One woman tried to defend Wimer, saying “Just because somebody gets arrested, doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re not a wonderful and capable doctor to treat people.”
She further asked “Was somebody killed?” when informed of Wimer’s storming the Barnard library. The woman conceded that the act was indeed violent, even if no one was killed.
As a medical resident, Wimer is charged with caring for patients of all colors and creeds. But with her history of violent pro-hamas demonstration, can patients be sure they will receive adequate care?
Imagine being a patient treated by a violent, pro-Hamas medical care provider? Use the action alert to send a message to her employers. Tell them you demand a response.
