Hidden Camera: Ohio Counselor Coaches Parents to Hide Trans Status, Use Birth Certificate Loophole
August 25, 2025
Reading High School counselor Jennifer Leone has been caught on a hidden camera advising prospective parents on how to get around recent Ohio laws banning transgender teenagers from using girls’ locker rooms, restrooms, and pronouns.
Leone told an Accuracy in Media investigator that with an altered birth certificate, and if the boy appeared female, that ‘he’ could use girls’ spaces–and dared others to question it.
“And that’s where, I would think, ‘this is what the birth certificate says, prove that it’s wrong,’” Leone said in the video, “Prove it.”
Responding to the investigator’s follow-up question about whether the ‘daughter’ could use girls’ restrooms if she attended the school, Leone said: “Absolutely.”
Leone said it would be fine for the boy to use “she/her” pronouns and join the girls’ sports teams.
Asked whether the parent would need the child’s original male birth certificate to join a girls’ sports team, Leone advised investigators to keep the child’s original male birth certificate a secret and not to “discuss it outside these walls.”
She added: “As long as, you know, the name that’s on your birth certificate is the name that you put in the system, and you fill out everything in the system that matches the birth certificate, again, how are you going to prove it?”
Ohio passed a law in 2024 banning people born male from participating in female sports at the K-12 and college levels.
The state has also passed laws requiring students to use the locker rooms and restrooms corresponding to their biological sex at birth.
AIM President Adam Guillette later confronted Leone on whether it was true she had counseled a prospective parent on how to break the law.
“That is not true,” she replied.
Confronted with the undercover video, the counselor declined to confirm that it was her.
“I am not allowed to comment,” Leone said, refusing to make eye contact with Guillette.
Highly paid administrators like Leone have made it clear they disagree with the desire of Ohio lawmakers to protect girls’ intimate spaces. Worse, they are working secretly to undermine the laws that have traditionally protected our nation’s daughters.
Accuracy in Media is putting an end to their lies.
