Ohio school official plots to help alleged transgender student bypass locker room law

Ohio’s legislature chose to safeguard women and girls’ sports and private spaces last year, overriding Republican Gov. Mike DeWine’s veto.

But some educators are still looking for ways to let biological males into private female spaces and activities in the Buckeye State, like girls’ locker rooms and sports teams.

This is the case with Princeton City Schools Assistant Athletic Director Tamette Duckworth, who was recently visited by Accuracy in Media undercover investigators.

Duckworth strategized with investigators on how to help an alleged transgender student get away with using female facilities and signing up for athletics.

In fact, she encouraged the investigators to have the biologically male prospective student change in the girls locker room “discreetly.”

She advised enrolling the student with an updated birth certificate and not mentioning that they are biologically male when prompted by the AIM investigators.

“I would say whether it’s at Princeton or at another school I would suggest that,” Duckworth told them.

When asked if the student would be “fine,” so long as no one learned they were transgender, she said “yeah.”

“If somebody did find out then … especially if I said somebody named Karen,” Duckworth laughed and trailed off.

However, she must have realized how that sounded, as she quickly apologized and told AIM’s investigators, “I shouldn’t be saying this.”

In 2024, Ohio passed laws banning biological males from female sports in K-12 and college, and requiring students to use facilities — such as bathrooms and locker rooms — that align with their biological sex.

And despite these laws taking effect, Tamette Duckworth was more than willing to help an alleged prospective transgender student covertly breach female spaces.

The message is clear: Ohio school officials are willing to put ideology over the safety of young women.
