Northwestern President resigns after AIM supporters send 40,000 messages to Trustees
September 5, 2025
Northwestern University President Michael Schill is resigning. This after Accuracy in Media supporters sent nearly 40,000 emails to the Board of Trustees.
Under Schill’s leadership, Northwestern University cut a deal with the anti-Semitic agitators, agreeing to hire two Palestinian professors in exchange for their willingness to follow school rules. One of the professors had direct ties to terrorist organizations. They also agreed to give five Palestinian undergraduates full rides to the school.
After this agreement, Mkhaimar Abusada was brought in to reportedly teach a weekly class on the “Palestinian National Movement.”
After Schill caved to the student demands, AIM visited the campus with a mobile billboard calling him out. The billboard labeled him “Hamas’s favorite university president,” catching plenty of attention on the streets of Evanston, Illinois. AIM also prompted a huge email campaign to the trustees of the school to demand his resignation through a simple form at SchillForHamas.com.
This campaign resulted in 3,981 Americans sending a whopping 38,739 emails.

Now this from Schill.
“As I reflect on the progress we have made and what lies ahead, I believe now is the right time for new leadership to guide Northwestern into its next chapter. Therefore, I have decided, in consultation with the leadership of the Board of Trustees, that I will step down as President,” Schill said in an announcement Thursday September 4th to the Northwestern community.
Schill further noted, “… difficult problems remain, particularly at the federal level. It is critical that we continue to protect the University’s research mission and excellence while preserving academic freedom, integrity, and independence.”
But the embattled university president didn’t explicitly mention the pro-hamas encampment that colored his tenure.
His resignation comes after the pressure campaign led by AIM.
AIM’s activism was highlighted and cited by numerous media outlets covering Northwestern University’s woes.
