Campus Reform Reports on AIM Activism Targeting Anti-Semitic Group at Columbia
March 5, 2026
An anti-Israel activist coalition tied to Columbia University in New York City is facing renewed scrutiny after posting “Death to America” in Farsi on Feb. 28.
The message was posted by Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), the coalition that organized anti-Israel encampments on campus in 2024. The post was later deleted after the platform restricted the account, though CUAD said it removed the message only to regain access.
Journalist Avi Mayer circulated screenshots of the post, drawing national attention.
Columbia University issued a statement clarifying that currently recognized student groups cannot affiliate with the organization calling itself CUAD and reaffirmed that the coalition is not an approved campus group.
CUAD states that it operates outside the framework of officially recognized student organizations and has no affiliation with Columbia University.
Critics dispute that claim. Adam Guillette, president of Accuracy in Media (AIM), said CUAD is a coalition that includes more than 70 Columbia student groups.
His organization recently launched a website identifying coalition members and plans to display billboards near campus highlighting the groups and student leaders involved.
