Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – The root cause of Harvard’s problems

Bill Ackman says that DEI was the original, underlying cause of Harvard’s problems with Claudine Gay. Vivek Ramaswamy agrees. Chris Rufo identifies the same root cause.

“We told you so” is an unattractive insistence unless, of course, that we told you so is actually correct – that we did tell you so.

So it is with the way that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has taken over the American education systems. Along with the subset of that, Critical Race Theory or CRT. We here at Accuracy in Media have been beating this drum for years. To the extent that yes, we do get to say that unattractive thing, we told you so.

Bill Ackman:

“Then I did more research. The more I learned, the more concerned I became, and the more ignorant I realized I had been about DEI, a powerful movement that has not only pervaded Harvard, but the educational system at large. I came to understand that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion was not what I had naively thought these words meant.”

That entire and pernicious set of thinking has led to the problems.

Ramaswamy:

“It’s a deeper cultural shift in our country that favors bureaucrats over creators & administrators over intellectuals that has infected nearly every major institution in American life. We miss the deeper point if we focus only on the race/gender/DEI dimension, which is as much a symptom as it is an underlying cause of the problem.”

He’s taking it one stage further, of course.

Chris Rufo:

“Dear Harvard: Abolish DEI. Adopt a policy of colorblind equality.”

We’re seeing a meeting of minds here.

But we did tell you so. There is the AIM work on insisting that Claudine Gay should resign. But more importantly, that work led up to this—our work on what is happening in schools.

As with what Bill Ackman says, this isn’t just about Gay, nor is it just about Harvard; this is about the education system as a whole. And students should not just arrive at Harvard to suddenly change their minds – or lose them. It is what they have been taught all the way through K-12 that leads to their being willing to accept these absurdities. And it is we who have been highlighting how the K-12 system has been teaching them.

As we pointed out about CRT in Ohio. As we taped in IdahoIn Iowa.

Our investigations from two years ago showed that this same set of ideas – a lot of blending between CRT and DEI – infect and infest our education system right down to what the little children are taught, not just Harvard students.

Worse than that, our investigations show what is being taught in the education colleges. As a result, the education bureaucracy will do what it wants, regardless of what the legislature says or what parents want. Yes, they even mess with Texas.

This isn’t just about Harvard and certainly not just about Claudine Gay. Our education system has been taken over by those in the grip of terrible delusions, DEI and CRT—something we’ve been saying for years now and something that is becoming more generally obvious.

So, now the big question. How do we take back the education of our children from those who are deluded?
