Accuracy in Media caught an administrator for the Irving Independent School District in Texas coaching a parent on how to get around Texas’ law banning biological boys from participating in girls’ sports, even saying, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught.” When confronted by AIM in person, the district employee denied having the conversation.
Reny Lizardo, the Executive Director of Campus Operations for the Irving school district in the suburb of Dallas, told the prospective parent who was inquiring about changing a birth certificate out of state to undermine Texas law, “So if you can get that done, and you turn us a birth certificate that says this gender… That’s the gender we go with.”
Lizardo also told the parent, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught, right?” and said that schools can claim “plausible deniability” if it becomes an issue. Then, “Me and you never had this conversation.”
Lizardo even told the parent that in the case of undocumented students, “Technically… We don’t have to have a birth certificate to enroll,” which could also apply to transgender students who want to get around the transgender sports ban and other laws to protect girls.
This comes as AIM also caught a Dallas ISD administrator bragging about how she would go to jail for violating Texas laws and a Richardson ISD administrator talking about how boys have been allowed to room with girls on overnight trips.
