Texas lawmakers face key vote on school choice as AIM investigations expose defiance of state law

The Texas House is set to vote today on advancing school choice—an issue that has dominated state politics and mobilized parents across the state.
Accuracy in Media has repeatedly shown why school choice is essential. It’s the only effective way to break the grip of an education bureaucracy that continues to ignore laws and push radical ideologies.
Our investigations revealed that even after Texas banned Critical Race Theory and prohibited biological boys from competing in girls’ sports, schools kept doing both.
“Texas public school administrators have previously been exposed by AIM for flouting state laws on Critical Race Theory in curricula. Now, AIM has uncovered evidence that the resistance extends beyond CRT to gender-related policies.”
When school officials defy the governor, the legislature, and the will of voters, something deeper must change.
That’s why Riley Gaines and AIM have championed universal school choice. It’s not just about punishing bad actors—it’s about removing their power altogether. If parents control where their children go to school, they can walk away from institutions that ignore the law.
Yes, the state is taking legal action—such as the lawsuit against Coppell ISD, which followed an AIM investigation—but lawsuits alone aren’t enough. As one administrator said on camera, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught, right?”
Texas voters have made their priorities clear. They’ve elected legislators on the promise of school choice. Parents want it. Voters want it. The education bureaucracy doesn’t—and that tells you everything.
It’s time to pass school choice and give families the freedom they deserve.
