Texas school official resigns after AIM exposes efforts to dodge transgender sports ban—but more work remains

Accuracy in Media’s undercover investigation into Texas school districts is already making an impact, but the fight isn’t over.
In Irving ISD, Reny Lizardo, the district’s executive director of campus operations, was caught on video coaching a parent on how to alter a birth certificate to bypass the law. His response? “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught, right?”
Well, he did get caught—and now he’s out. Fox News reports that Lizardo has resigned following AIM’s investigation. This is a victory, proving that exposing corruption leads to real consequences.
In a previous release investigating Richardson ISD, AIM exposed a DEI administrator defending the practice of allowing biological boys to stay in girls’ rooms on overnight trips—something she later refused to admit when confronted.
In another, Dallas ISD officials explained how a loophole—using an out-of-state update to a birth certificate—could allow transgender athletes to compete outside their biological gender, despite Texas law explicitly banning the practice. When asked if the district would support a transgender student under these circumstances, the answer was clear: “Absolutely.”
One resignation isn’t enough. AIM’s work has already uncovered multiple instances of school officials actively working against the law. Until those violating the system are held accountable, the problem will persist.
More importantly, this corruption stems from the progressive education bureaucracy itself—a system that will only be dismantled when parents are given full control over their children’s education. The only real solution is universal school choice.
Texans must demand action. School districts should not be able to flout the law while using taxpayer dollars to push political agendas. Join the fight for school choice and real accountability at TexasSchoolsLie.com.
